JOHN BLACKWOOD  has a multifaceted practice that focuses on significant business transactions, as well as large corporate bankruptcies. He represents public, venture-backed and private companies in acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and other strategic alliances. His practice includes representing several private equity growth companies and also advising companies in recapitalizations including venture capital transactions. Many of John's clients are in the healthcare and technology industries.

In addition to general corporate work, John also has extensive experience representing businesses in out-of-court restructurings and buyers and sellers of distressed businesses or assets.

John received his J.D. from Vanderbilt University, where he was an associate editor of The Vanderbilt Law Review and the recipient of several American Jurisprudence Awards.
