DAVID CAÑAS is a commercial litigator who represents clients in a wide variety of business disputes, including contract disputes, non-compete issues and discrimination cases. He also represents clients in bankruptcies as corporate debtors' counsel and creditors' counsel.

David’s role in a dispute is to take charge and stay ahead of the other side. He helps his clients stay informed and focused throughout the legal proceedings. David also works with his clients to resolve disputes before litigation or bankruptcy becomes necessary.

David was named Pro Bono Attorney of the Year by the Tennessee Bar Association in 2006 for his work with a TennCare client over coverage for a medical device. That case came to him through the Tennessee Justice Center (TJC). He has embraced the center’s mission and worked on several other pro bono cases with them since. He is now a member of the TJC board and sits on their executive committee.

Before coming to H3GM, David served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Hewitt P. Tomlin, Jr., and David R. Farmer on the Tennessee Court of Appeals in Jackson, Tennessee. He is an avid runner, having completed two marathons and numerous other races. David also enjoys time with his wife and three children.
