In connection with our representation of healthcare clients, H3GM real estate attorneys have been extensively involved in the buying, selling, developing and leasing of the properties of hospitals, long-term care facilities, medical centers, medical office buildings, institutional pharmacies, and other medical related facilities.

  • LifePoint Hospitals Inc.: Represented company with respect to the real estate acquired in connection with the purchase from HCA of four hospitals located in West Virginia and Virginia.
  • Advocat Inc.: Represented company in the sale of thirteen (13) assisted living facilities and related real estate in North Carolina.
  • MedCap Properties, LLC: Represented company in a series of transactions that resulted in the acquisition by Health Care Property Investors, Inc. (NYSE: HCP) and its affiliates of MedCap’s portfolio of 113 medical office buildings. The buildings represent in the aggregate 6 million square feet of medical office space located on hospital campuses in 16 states.
  • Represented an individual in the sale of their 248 acres of undeveloped land in Hendersonville, Tennessee to a developer.
  • Attentus Healthcare Company: Represented company in the acquisition by long-term lease of hospital facilities in Moulton, Alabama and Oneida, Tennessee.
  • Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance: Represented company in the lease of space as the major tenant of a medical office building to be constructed as part of the Middle Tennessee Medical Center hospital campus in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
  • Advocat Inc.: Represented company in the extension of its long term master lease of 29 nursing home facilities with Omega Healthcare Investors, Inc.
  • Represented REIT as developer/owner in development and financing of 850,000 gross square feet of first class office space in Denver, Colorado; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Colorado Springs, Colorado; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Nashville, Tennessee; Osceola, Florida; Las Vegas, Nevada; Atlanta, Georgia; and Reston, Virginia.
  • Led disposition of portfolio of 116 buildings in a $630 million transaction to a joint venture, a taxable subsidiary of a publicly held REIT and formation of a Down-REIT.
  • Represented a development company in defeasement of bond indebtedness.
