Foster Named Forest Hills City Attorney

Nashville, Tenn., Nov. 28, 2007 Matthew Foster, associate at Harwell Howard Hyne Gabbert & Manner P.C. (H3GM), has been appointed city attorney of Forest Hills.  Serving as assistant city attorney since January 1,  Foster replaces H3GM colleague Jonathan Harwell, who stepped down after serving the City of Forest Hills for 20 years.

“It has been an honor and privilege to serve the citizens of Forest Hills,” said Harwell.  “I am equally pleased that Matt will assume this new role, and I am confident he will be an asset to the city.”

At H3GM, Foster represents clients in the areas of business, real estate and municipal law.  Prior to joining the firm, Foster served as the vice president of a marketing and consulting firm, and also spent time as special assistant to Nashville mayors Bill Purcell and Phil Bredesen.  A graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Law, Foster was selected as one of Nashville’s “Top 30 under 30” by Business Nashville in 2002.

Harwell, founding shareholder of Harwell Howard Hyne Gabbert & Manner, P.C., was honored by Mayor Charles Evers for his years of service to the City of Forest Hills through a resolution passed by the board of commissioners on November 1 and during a luncheon on November 2.  A career long member of the Nashville, Tennessee and American Bar Associations, Harwell has served as president of the Nashville Bar Association and on the American Bar Association’s Board of Elections.
