LES WILKINSON assists for-profit businesses and tax exempt organizations with federal and state tax planning, transaction structuring and executive compensation plans. He frequently advises for-profit and exempt organization boards on tax and governance issues. Les works with high net worth individuals on income tax planning and estate, gift and generation skipping transfer tax planning. He designs and implements business succession plans, including leveraged ESOP transactions. He also works in the area of estate, trust and conservatorship administration.
Les is a member of the American, Tennessee, and Nashville Bar Associations. He is a member of the executive council of the Tennessee Bar Association's Tax and Estate Planning Sections. Les heads the legislation subcommittees for each of those sections and works as a liaison between the Bar and the Tennessee Department of Revenue with respect to legislative issues. He is the former chair of the Estate Planning Committee of the Nashville Bar Association. He is an adjunct professor in the Masters of Accounting Program at Lipscomb University. Additionally, he has delivered continuing legal education lectures on estate, tax and business planning.
Les received his LL.M in taxation from the University of Denver. He received his JD and BS from the University of Tennessee where he was a member of the Tennessee Law Review. He served as judicial clerk to Judge Houston Goddard, Tennessee Court of Appeals, Knoxville, Tennessee. Les is also licensed to practice in Colorado.
